Protoplasm App Privacy

Updated October 25, 2026 · Native apps, version 1.0

This policy covers the Protoplasm 1.0 native apps for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV from Andy Edmonds / Mind Bending Pixels. The browser preview and this website are separate; see our web privacy policy.

Data stays on your device

Protoplasm does not collect or transmit personal information, app analytics, advertising identifiers or tracking data. It has no account, advertising, social features or in-app purchases in version 1.0.

Controls and motion

Touch, pointer, remote and controller input are processed on your device. On supported devices, enabling Tilt uses motion sensors to move the simulated liquid. These inputs are not sent to us or retained as recordings. Tilt is optional.

Local settings

App preferences may be saved on your device. They are not uploaded to a Protoplasm account or server. Removing the app removes its local data, subject to your device’s backup and restore settings.

Optional microphone response

On iPhone, iPad and Mac, you can enable microphone input to make the visuals respond to nearby sound. The app requests microphone permission before using it. Audio is analyzed on your device in real time; it is not saved as a recording or transmitted to us or any server. You can turn microphone response off or revoke permission in your device settings. The Apple TV app does not use microphone input in version 1.0.

Camera and media

Version 1.0 does not use your camera, access your music library, or record or export photos or videos.

Apple services

Apple handles App Store downloads and any diagnostics you choose to share through your device’s Apple settings under Apple’s privacy policy.

Support

If you email us, we receive the address and information you include and use them to respond. Please send only what is needed to explain your issue. Contact [email protected] for support or privacy questions.

Children

The app does not collect personal information from children or other users.

Changes

Any changes to this policy will be posted here with an updated date.
